The quality of our relationship with ourselves has a profound impact on our ability to foster healthy and meaningful connections with others.

It is an honor to join clients on their journey in individual therapy. It’s also hard to describe what happens in therapy on a website, but I can try! (Please reach out for more information)

Therapy can be transformative. Individual therapy is an opportunity for self-discovery. This process involves an exploration of the past, present and future using a human attachment based framework (think attachment styles). We’ll explore the patterns of behavior that are keeping you stuck and help you break out of the patterns (maladaptive coping strategies) that are no longer serving you. My goal is to provide an open, nonjudgmental space for you, while also giving plenty of direct feedback to help encourage you to make the changes you want. I will bring in lots of different tools depending on where you’re at and what you’re needing. My hope is that by the end of our work together, you understand yourself in a new way and you’ve made significant and meaningful changes.

Together we will navigate through the messiness and help you to get clear on what’s not working and get you closer to living the life you want. As a trained Marriage and Family therapist with a background in corporate America, I am comfortable working with a variety of issues. If you’re an individual with any sort of relational issue (family, friends, romantic, work) I can help. I regularly work with anxiety, depression, anger, intimacy issues as well as MANY other individual concerns. In addition, a few things I particularly enjoy working with are:

Struggles with dating/finding fulfilling partnership

Navigating the dating world and finding a fulfilling partnership can often be a challenging and anxiety-inducing experience. In our individual therapy sessions in my office in Denver’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, we will explore your relationship patterns, underlying fears, and any barriers that may be preventing you from forming a successful relationship. It's essential to understand thdat these struggles are common and you're not alone in this. My goal is to equip you with the tools and insights to foster growth and pave the way for a healthier, more satisfying partnership.

Understanding your needs/setting boundaries

Understanding one’s needs and setting boundaries are a crucial component to individual therapy sessions. Where do you end and others begin? When there is a lack of clarity here for any reason, it can be distressing and anxiety inducing. You become responsible for things that aren’t yours and likely are unable to get your needs met. Through our sessions, we will explore these concerns, diving deep into your relationship patterns, communication styles, and emotional responses. My aim is to help you gain clarity and ultimately cultivate fulfilling, connected relationships.

Blended family dynamics

Blended family dynamics, including step-parenting and co-parenting, often present unique challenges that can cause stress and anxiety. The process of blending families involves navigating new relationships, roles, and responsibilities, which can sometimes lead to feelings of confusion or displacement. In our Denver-based individual therapy sessions, we work together to address these issues and foster a harmonious environment. We'll focus on communication strategies, conflict resolution, and fostering empathy and understanding among all family members. This supportive space allows for growth and strengthening the bonds within your blended family, helping you build a stable, loving household.

Men's Issues

Men's issues, particularly around emotional intimacy and vulnerability, often go unaddressed due to societal expectations and stereotypes. Many men feel the pressure to embody the "strong and silent" archetype, which can prevent them from expressing feelings or seeking help. This often leads to increased isolation and feelings of loneliness.

During our sessions, we focus on dismantling these barriers to vulnerability and fostering a deeper connection with self and others. We'll explore emotional awareness, communication skills, and strategies for self-expression, enabling you to experience the freedom and growth that comes from embracing vulnerability. Recognize that it's okay to seek help, and through this process, you can develop more fulfilling, emotionally intimate relationships.

My Approach

When working with individuals, I utilize a variety of modalities and interventions to help you reach your goals. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I am trained to think systemically and contextually, meaning I want to see and understand the full picture of you and the problem you are facing. I have advanced trainings in Emotionally Focused Couples therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

When it comes to therapy, it’s so important to find a therapist who is not only a good fit for you, but also someone with whom you feel completely comfortable.

It is so important to find a therapist that is a good fit for you. I am happy to offer a free 10-minute consultation so we can get a feel for if we are a good match before booking a session.
